SOPHIE COMPTON-COOK
First Year Representative
Originally from Melbourne, Sophie’s interest in agriculture sparked whilst working with her Grandpa on her family’s broad acre cropping farm in South Australia’s Mid-North. Having enjoyed sciences in school, she decided to combine her two passions, making the move to study Agricultural Sciences at University.
Sophie’s excited to learn and explore the different areas of agriculture. She thinks she’ll move towards a career in agronomy and possibly consultancy, however is very open to developing further in areas less familiar to her such as horticulture and livestock.
Through being a part of the AUASA committee, Sophie hopes to involve herself, discussing and working alongside like-minded people, whilst encouraging other students to engage in the agricultural community and do the same.
